Police arrested a 23-year-old man Saturday in connection with the stabbing and alleged abduction of a 15-year-old girl in Northwest Baltimore. The girl is expected to survive, and the suspect faces attempted-murder and other charges.
A 23-year-old Baltimore man was arrested Saturday after a 15-year-old girl told police she escaped from a basement and was stabbed in Northwest Baltimore, authorities said.
Officers responded at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday to the 3800 block of Belle Avenue, where they found the girl with a stab wound. She told police she had been held in a basement in the area and attacked by a man she did not know. She is expected to survive.
Police identified the suspect as Abubakarr Barrie, who was arrested in the 3700 block of Garrison Boulevard, less than half a mile from where officers found the girl.
Court records list charges against Barrie including first- and second-degree attempted murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment and multiple assault counts. He was scheduled for a bail review Monday morning. The charges are allegations; the court process will determine the case.
