Baltimore County to reopen Dundalk and Randallstown pools in year-end pilot
The Dundalk Community Center pool is scheduled to resume open swimming Wednesday morning, with the Randallstown pool reopening next week. Baltimore County says the pilot will offer discounted memberships and hours shaped by resident feedback.
Baltimore County will reopen its indoor pools in Dundalk and Randallstown as part of a pilot program expected to run through at least the end of the year.
The pool at the Dundalk Community Center is scheduled to open for public swimming at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14. During the pilot, it will operate Mondays and Wednesdays through Saturdays.
Randallstown’s pool will hold an open house Saturday before reopening Monday, Oct. 19, county officials said.
The county developed the pilot after an online survey and two listening sessions. Residents asked for an affordable place to swim, including open lap swimming and fitness classes. The county said discounted memberships will be available, though details on prices and class schedules were not provided.
“We heard clearly from residents that they want these pools open, affordable and available to their communities,” County Executive Kathy Klausmeier said in a statement. She said the reopening and hours reflect community feedback.
The pilot will give residents access to county-owned pools while officials assess the program through the end of the year and beyond.
