San Marcos schedules four fall sessions to shape bus service plan
San Marcos is holding four public events this fall to collect residents’ ideas for improving local bus service, beginning with a session Wednesday, Oct. 14, at San Marcos Station. The outreach is part of the city’s 2026 Transit Development Plan, a joint effort with Texas State University. The plan will guide improvements to SMTX The Bus and the Bobcat Shuttle. City officials are seeking feedback on the reliability and reach of existing routes, as well as bus stops and schedules. “The Transit Development Plan is an opportunity to develop a transit system that works for our community,” Transit Manager Amy Finn said. The remaining sessions are scheduled for Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins St.; Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the San Marcos Farmers Market, 111 E. San Antonio St.; and Nov. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Activity Center. The Oct. 14 event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Marcos Station, 338 S. Guadalupe St. Residents can attend any of the sessions to learn about the planning effort and share feedback.
