Reese’s 30-point night lifts Atlanta Dream to 79-65 Finals win

Angel Reese delivered 30 points and 16 rebounds Monday night, leading the Atlanta Dream to a 79-65 victory over the Golden State Valkyries in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

The win was the first in a WNBA Finals game in Dream franchise history and evened the series at 1-1. Atlanta had lost Game 1, but responded with a decisive performance on the road.

Reese became the youngest player to record at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in a WNBA playoff game. Her work inside helped Atlanta overcome Golden State center Kiah Stokes, who had disrupted the Dream’s attempts near the basket.

Allisha Gray added 18 points and five rebounds for Atlanta. Jordin Canada finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists.

The series moves to Atlanta for Game 3 at State Farm Arena. The Dream will have a chance to take the lead in front of their home crowd.
