Atlanta Dream face elimination after 64-55 loss to Golden State in Game 5

The Atlanta Dream’s WNBA Finals hopes are down to one game after a 64-55 loss to the Golden State Valkyries on Monday night at Chase Center in San Francisco.

Atlanta struggled to find its offense, making 29.2% of its shots from the field and 23.1% from 3-point range. The teams combined for 67 points in the first half, the fewest in the first half of a WNBA Finals game.

Rhyne Howard led all scorers with 20 points and added five rebounds for Atlanta. Angel Reese had seven points and a team-high 15 rebounds.

The loss leaves the Dream facing elimination in Game 6. The series returns to Atlanta on Thursday, when the teams are scheduled to play at State Farm Arena. A Dream victory would force a deciding Game 7; a Valkyries win would give Golden State the championship.
