Meriwether County hit-and-run kills Army veteran and father of four
Sean Wall, 36, was struck while walking along State Route 362 after experiencing car trouble, according to a family fundraiser. The driver left the scene, and investigators are working to establish how the crash happened.
Sean Wall, a 36-year-old Army veteran and father of four, was killed in a hit-and-run crash on State Route 362 in Meriwether County on Sept. 10, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The crash happened at about 4:15 a.m. Troopers said the driver who struck Wall left the scene. Other westbound vehicles later drove over him, according to the State Patrol.
A fundraiser organized by Sharon Oxford says Wall was walking along the highway after his car experienced trouble. He leaves behind four children: Mylah, 15; Oaklyn, 8; and infants Ashdon, 11 months, and Given, 6 months.
The fundraiser describes Wall as a devoted, hands-on father and the children’s primary financial provider. Donations are intended to help with expenses including housing, utilities, child care, school and sports activities, clothing and diapers.
Wall served in the U.S. Army and received the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and a Parachutist Badge, according to the fundraiser.
The Georgia State Patrol’s State Collision Reconstruction Team and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating the crash. No information about a suspect or vehicle was provided.
