DeKalb County police are investigating the death of an infant found at a townhome community on Eastwyck Circle, after officers responded to calls about a dead child at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, police said. The county medical examiner’s office also responded to the scene. Investigators were seen examining what appeared to be a commercial dumpster at the property, while crime-scene tape was in place. Police said the investigation is in its early stages and have not released information about how the infant died. The child has not been identified. A man at the location was taken into custody on failure-to-appear warrants in an unrelated case, according to police. The department said his arrest is not connected to the infant’s death. His identity was not released.
