Atlanta police charge two more people in Tarris Caswell killing
Two more people have been arrested in the killing of Atlanta music producer and DJ Tarris Caswell, police said Friday, Oct. 9. Kevon McFasion, 17, and Timardre Johnson, 20, were charged with murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to Atlanta police. Caswell, 33, was shot and killed inside his vehicle on Aug. 21 in the 300 block of McDaniel Street. Police believe he and a friend were lured there on the pretense that they were picking up two young men for a ride to a rap studio or video session. Police said the encounter was instead a robbery. A 16-year-old was arrested Sept. 24 and charged with murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and firearm possession in connection with the killing. Police have not released the teenager’s name because of their age. The arrests bring the number of suspects publicly reported as arrested in the case to three. The charges are allegations, and the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
