Atlanta firefighters pull Buckhead worker from 20-foot manhole
A worker fell about 20 feet into a manhole on Roxboro Road in Buckhead around 10 a.m. Oct. 6. Atlanta firefighters used a harness to bring the conscious worker to the surface.
An Atlanta worker was rescued after falling about 20 feet into a manhole in Buckhead on Tuesday morning, Oct. 6, 2026, according to Atlanta Fire officials.
Firefighters responded to the 3400 block of Roxboro Road around 10 a.m. They found the worker conscious and speaking with rescuers but unable to climb out without help.
Rescuers used a harness to lift the worker from the manhole. Officials did not provide information about the worker’s injuries or whether they were taken to a hospital.
