Seattle prosecutors charge former gas station worker in clerk’s fatal shooting
Michael Anthony Oneal Fleming, 33, is charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 13 shooting of Graeme Dobbeck at a downtown Seattle 76 station. Police say Fleming may be in Wisconsin and should be considered armed and dangerous.
A 33-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a former co-worker at a gas station near Seattle Center, according to King County court documents.
Prosecutors allege Michael Anthony Oneal Fleming killed Graeme Dobbeck on Oct. 13 at the 76 station at 351 Broad St. The charge alleges the killing was premeditated. The allegations have not been proven in court.
Seattle police were called to the station at 5:52 a.m. and found Dobbeck, the store’s manager for more than two years, unresponsive behind the counter. Seattle Fire Department medics pronounced him dead at the scene. A preliminary medical examiner’s finding cited multiple gunshot wounds to his head, face and chest.
A probable-cause statement says security video showed someone enter the store, bring a drink to the counter and fire at least four shots at Dobbeck from close range before leaving. Investigators said they found no evidence of a robbery or prior conflict between the two men.
Police identified Fleming using the video, perceived similarities in appearance and gait, and identifications by the store owner and another employee. Fleming had worked at the station and resigned weeks before the shooting, court records say. The owner told detectives he knew of no dispute between Fleming and Dobbeck.
Fleming’s whereabouts are unknown, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Authorities said he may have traveled toward Chicago, while Kenosha police in Wisconsin reported Tuesday that he was last seen in the city’s northwest area. Seattle and Kenosha police both say he is believed to be armed and dangerous and warn people not to approach him.
