Weekend work will shut southbound Highway 101 at San Francisco’s Hospital Curve
All southbound lanes and one northbound lane will close from late Friday, Oct. 16, through early Monday, Oct. 19, for construction. Caltrans advises drivers to avoid the area and consider Interstate 280.
Drivers traveling through San Francisco’s Hospital Curve should plan for major Highway 101 closures this weekend as crews continue a repaving and rehabilitation project.
All southbound lanes and one northbound lane will close between Cesar Chavez Street and 17th Street at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16. The lanes are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, according to Caltrans.
Caltrans recommends avoiding the area and using Interstate 280 as an alternate route. The work marks the third weekend closure for the project, which began last fall.
A fourth and final closure affecting the same lanes is planned for Nov. 6-9, weather permitting.
