Beaverton-area toddler reunited with father after being left at Lake Oswego home; mother booked
A 3-year-old boy reported missing in the Beaverton area was found safe and reunited with his father after his mother left him at a Lake Oswego home, Beaverton police said Friday, Oct. 9. Police said Mari Cruz Martinez dropped the child off with a “trusted individual” and then fled the area. Officers later located Martinez and took her into custody. She was booked on charges of custodial interference and kidnapping, according to police. The boy had been reported missing earlier in the week after Martinez did not return him to his father. A Washington County judge had recently granted the father temporary custody. Police said the court determined the child was in “immediate danger” with his mother. The child was reunited with his father. The charges are allegations; the information provided by police did not detail the next court date or any additional case proceedings.
