A 33-year-old man died after a shooting near U.S. 60 and Alma School Road in Mesa on Wednesday afternoon, and police are investigating whether it stemmed from a road-rage incident.

Mesa police identified the man as Miguel Rodriguez. Multiple people called 911 shortly before 2 p.m. to report gunfire, police said. Rodriguez was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police said others involved in the incident remained at the scene and were cooperating with investigators. No arrests had been made, and authorities had not released further details about what led to the shooting.
