Wilmington crash that killed three leads to murder, DUI indictment
A Delaware grand jury has indicted Nicholas Resto, 30, on murder, DUI, deadly-weapon possession and related charges in a Wilmington crash that killed three people in March, authorities said. Resto is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution while he awaits trial. The charges stem from a collision shortly after 4:18 a.m. on March 21 near Ninth and Walnut streets, where police say a vehicle Resto was driving struck another car carrying Curtis Jackson, 48; Caroline Shockley, 35; and Brandon Hill, 41. All three died. Investigators determined that Resto was driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding at the time of the crash, according to officials. The allegations have not been proven in court. Wilmington police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information or video to contact Senior Cpl. Keith Johnson at 302-571-4415 or Keith.Johnson@cj.state.de.us.
