SEPTA changes Regional Rail timetables Oct. 18 and cuts garage parking rates
SEPTA’s new Regional Rail schedules take effect Sunday, Oct. 18, bringing changes to train connections and departure times across the network. SEPTA says the schedules create more consistent pairings between lines on different parts of the system. The agency says that should make travel easier to navigate and limit how widely delays spread when disruptions occur. On the Paoli/Thorndale Line, Amtrak work is expected to affect service through Nov. 21. Inbound trains will leave five minutes earlier on their way to William H. Gray III 30th Street Station to account for anticipated delays. SEPTA also adjusted an early-morning trip following rider feedback. Train 5300, which currently leaves Malvern at 4:29 a.m., will operate as train 9500 and depart 20 minutes later. Separately, daily parking at SEPTA garages at Frankford Transit Center, Lansdale Station and Norristown Transit Center, among other locations, has been reduced from $4 to $2 through Dec. 31. SEPTA says the lower rate is intended to encourage use of its parking facilities. Riders should check SEPTA’s updated timetables before traveling, particularly those using the Paoli/Thorndale Line during the Amtrak work.
