Police renew appeal for tips in Naython Brown’s fatal roadside shooting

Pennsylvania State Police are asking the public for information about the unsolved killing of Naython Brown, a 33-year-old Philadelphia man shot on the side of Interstate 95 in Chester Township in 2019. A $5,000 reward is available for information that helps solve the case.

Troopers were called at about 9:28 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2019, after a person was reported dead on a grassy median along southbound I-95 near Exit 4, by the exit for the Commodore Barry Bridge. They found Brown with a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators determined that Brown’s white Chevrolet Monte Carlo had become disabled with a flat tire as he drove from Philadelphia toward Chester. Police believe he was shot while waiting by the roadside for help.

State police renewed the appeal on Monday, the seventh anniversary of Brown’s killing. They are asking anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigation Unit at 215-452-5216, call the state police tip line at 1-800-472-8477 or submit a tip online at https://www.p3tips.com/tipform.aspx?ID=107.

Callers to the tip line may be eligible for the reward if their information leads to an arrest, solves a crime or cold case, or helps locate a wanted person or missing person. State police say reward funds are not paid by taxpayers.
