Forensic testing to determine whether bones found at Olney property are human
Medical Examiner’s Office personnel recovered bones Thursday from a Philadelphia home under investigation in connection with seven missing women. Their origin is unknown, and authorities have not confirmed that any remains have been found in the case.
Bones recovered Thursday from a home in Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood will undergo forensic testing to determine whether they are human and whether they could be connected to an investigation involving seven missing women.
The Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the property, which is at the center of a continuing search, according to people familiar with the investigation. The condition and origin of the bones were not known Thursday, and authorities had not confirmed that investigators had found human remains.
The discovery comes as crews excavate the home’s backyard, where they have been sifting soil for evidence. Investigators also used luminol inside the property earlier this week; police sources said the chemical produced a positive reaction, which requires further forensic analysis. Luminol can reveal traces of blood that are not visible to the naked eye, but the reported reaction does not by itself establish what happened or who may have been involved.
Seven women have been linked to the property through videos and images recovered during the investigation. Authorities have not reported finding bodies. Investigators are examining more than 1 million digital files from hard drives seized at the home, and last week began dismantling parts of the building, removing material from its walls, floors and basement.
The property formerly belonged to Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, who died in 2025, and his son Eugene. Investigators have said R.C. Horsch produced violent pornography depicting women and are working to determine whether material recovered in the case was staged or documented real events.
Eugene Horsch was arrested in June on federal firearms and drug charges. He has not been charged in connection with the missing-women investigation. The search and forensic examination of the Olney property are ongoing.
