A 22-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot outside a bar in Philadelphia's Mayfair neighborhood early Sunday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to the 3400 block of Brighton Street just before 2 a.m. after reports of gunfire. They found the young man suffering from two gunshot wounds â one to the chest and one to the arm.
He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he remained in critical condition as of Sunday morning.
Investigators say two gunmen fired at least 22 shots using two different weapons. Several nearby vehicles were also struck by the gunfire, according to police.
No arrests have been made, and investigators are still searching for the shooters. Police have not released a description of the suspects or a possible motive.
The shooting adds to a grim toll of gun violence in the neighborhood and across the city. Community members have repeatedly called for more resources for violence prevention and for stronger efforts to get illegal guns off the streets.
