Troy Tulton’s remains found near Pink; two relatives arrested as investigation continues
Authorities say the remains of 47-year-old Troy Tulton were buried on property near Pink, where he lived with his fiancée and her sister. The women have been arrested, but prosecutors have not formally charged them, and the medical examiner’s findings are still pending.
The remains of Troy Tulton, a 47-year-old Pottawatomie County man missing since late July, were found buried on property near Pink, and his fiancée and her sister have been arrested in connection with his disappearance, authorities said Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Investigators found Tulton near Little River Road and Yellow Brick Road, on property south of Tecumseh where he had lived with the two women. Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Dakota Black said Tulton was last seen at the residence by the people living there. His family reported him missing, about two weeks after he disappeared, Black said.
Tulton was last seen July 31, when he was expected to travel to the Oklahoma City area to help someone move and pick up a trailer. He did not arrive at either destination. Oklahoma City police found his vehicle abandoned near 104th Street and Peebly Road on Aug. 15. He was officially reported missing Aug. 13.
Investigators focused in part on an excavator rented by Tulton’s fiancée on July 31 and returned to the Oklahoma City area Aug. 3. Black said investigators found equipment tracks on the property that led them to the burial site. He also said investigators were concerned by inconsistencies in the women’s accounts and that neither had reported Tulton missing.
The women have been arrested but had not been formally charged as of Wednesday, Oct. 21. The sheriff’s office said additional charges may follow as investigators receive more information. The medical examiner has provided preliminary findings, Black said, but no final report or definitive cause of death was available.
Authorities have not released the women’s names. The investigation remains ongoing.
