OSBI joins Tecumseh school probe as three administrators are placed on leave
Oklahoma investigators are assisting Tecumseh police in a widening inquiry into allegations involving head football coach Randon Lowe and how student reports were handled. No charges have been filed, and Lowe has not been arrested.
TECUMSEH, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has joined a widening investigation involving Tecumseh High School staff and head football coach Randon Lowe, police said Wednesday, Oct. 14.
High school principal Jaime Griggs, athletic director Casi Bays and counselor Erin Meyers have been placed on administrative leave. Tecumseh Police Chief JR Kidney said the department is examining whether staff responded appropriately to allegations after several female students said they reported concerns in January 2026.
Kidney said investigators believed the three employees may not have handled the matter properly. He also stressed that the allegations remain under investigation and that police must assess evidence fairly before deciding whether charges are warranted.
The school district’s superintendent told families that administrative leave is not disciplinary, but is intended to protect the integrity of the investigation. The district said it is cooperating with the agencies involved.
Kidney said the number of allegations and the demands on local investigators led the department to request OSBI assistance. He said he hoped to send the case to the district attorney’s office for review as early as Nov. 1.
Lowe has not been arrested, and no charges have been filed. The investigation concerns both allegations involving the coach and questions about whether school officials acted on reports from students.
