Tennessee investigators examine Clarksville representative’s district residency
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into whether state Rep. Ronnie Glynn lives in the district he represents. Glynn, a Democrat seeking re-election in House District 67, had not publicly commented as of Oct. 14.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating allegations about whether state Rep. Ronnie Glynn lives outside the district he represents, the agency confirmed Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Glynn, a Democrat, represents House District 67 in Montgomery County and is running for re-election. The TBI said the investigation is “active and ongoing.” The agency has not released further details, and Glynn’s office had not responded to a request for comment as of Wednesday.
Tennessee’s Constitution requires state House candidates to be U.S. citizens, at least 21 years old, and to have lived in Tennessee for at least three years. Candidates must also have been residents of the county they seek to represent for the year immediately before the election.
The investigation concerns whether Glynn meets the residency requirement. No finding or conclusion has been announced.
