Tennessee DCS offers Davidson County case managers bonuses as part of statewide pay plan

The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services plans to spend more than $3 million on workforce incentives, including bonuses for case managers in Davidson County and pay increases for hundreds of employees statewide.

Beginning in November, newly hired Davidson County case managers will be eligible for sign-on bonuses of up to $2,500. Current case managers in the county can receive annual retention bonuses of up to $5,000.

DCS said the county incentives are intended to help recruit and retain staff in a particularly competitive job market. Commissioner Margie Quin said the investment recognizes the demands on frontline employees and is meant to help attract qualified candidates.

The department will also increase pay for 560 program specialists and coordinators across Tennessee. Employees whose pay is below the new minimum will receive an increase to that level; those already earning more than the minimum will receive a 2% raise.

DCS says the changes are aimed at strengthening the workforce that serves children and families. The department did not provide further details on how many Davidson County employees are expected to receive the bonuses.
