A 59-year-old woman was struck Saturday evening at Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard and Buchanan Street, police say, then left on a sidewalk for nearly five hours. She remains in critical condition as investigators ask witnesses to come forward.
Metro Nashville police are seeking the driver of a dark-colored four-door sedan that struck a 59-year-old woman Saturday evening at the intersection of Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard and Buchanan Street.
The collision happened at about 5:50 p.m. on Oct. 24, police said. Investigators say footage shows the driver, described as a Black woman wearing a purple shirt and light-colored pants, got out of the car and, with help from people nearby, moved the pedestrian from the roadway to the sidewalk. The driver left several minutes later.
No one called police, according to the department. Officers were flagged down at about 10:40 p.m. and found the woman unconscious on the sidewalk near the intersection, nearly five hours after the collision. Officers administered Narcan; when she did not respond, they took her to St. Thomas Midtown Hospital, where she remains in critical condition, police said.
