Woman says two drivers trapped her car at Oak Creek-area gas station before crash
Laura Grall says two vehicles struck her car from both ends after she pulled into a gas station near 20th and College to avoid their reckless driving. About an hour later, Oak Creek police chased suspected vehicle-theft suspects, whose pursuit ended in a crash near Oak Creek High School; five people were arrested.
A Milwaukee woman says two drivers boxed in and struck her car at a gas station near 20th Street and College Avenue before a police pursuit ended in a crash near Oak Creek High School.
Laura Grall said she was driving home after picking up medicine for her sick daughter when she saw two vehicles driving recklessly on 27th Street. She described the cars moving into the oncoming lane toward a pickup truck, in what she called a game of “chicken.”
Grall pulled into a BP station near the Oak Creek border to get out of their way. She said one vehicle hit the rear of her car while the other struck its front. Surveillance footage captured the vehicles following her into the lot, according to the report.
“I am pinned, am I going to get shot?” Grall recalled thinking.
Just over an hour later, Oak Creek police pursued a group suspected of vehicle theft. The pursuit ended when the suspects crashed near Oak Creek High School. Police arrested four people after Tuesday’s crash and a fifth suspect the following day.
Grall called for those responsible to be held accountable, saying law enforcement and the courts should protect the public. The available details did not specify whether anyone was injured in either incident or what charges the arrested suspects face.
