Vehicle nearly submerged in Oak Creek pond after overnight crash
A vehicle crashed into a pond near Oakwood and Chicago avenues in Oak Creek shortly after midnight Tuesday. Oak Creek and Caledonia officers responded, and at least one person was taken away in handcuffs as investigators worked to determine what led to the crash.
OAK CREEK, Wis. — A vehicle ended up nearly completely submerged in an Oak Creek pond early Tuesday after a crash near Oakwood Avenue and Chicago Avenue, authorities said.
The crash was reported at about 12:30 a.m. Sept. 22. Officers from the Oak Creek and Caledonia police departments responded to the scene.
Video from the area showed the vehicle sitting deep in the water. A photojournalist at the scene witnessed at least one person being taken away in handcuffs.
Police had not yet said whether the crash followed a pursuit, whether anyone was injured or whether criminal charges would be filed. The circumstances remained under investigation Tuesday morning.
