MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee police officer was injured Friday morning during an arrest near North Plankinton Avenue and West Wells Street, according to police. Officers were dispatched around 8:16 a.m. following a report of a man urinating in public. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old man whom police said was littering. Police said the man became combative when officers tried to speak with him and punched one officer, causing pain and injury. He also resisted arrest, leading to additional injuries, police said. The man was taken into custody at the scene. Police did not release his name or provide information about potential charges. The injured officer is 39 years old and has more than 10 years of service, according to police. He received medical treatment after the encounter.
