BRISTOL, Wis. — A 46-year-old woman was killed Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on County Highway C, also known as Wilmot Road, in Kenosha County, authorities said. Deputies and firefighters responded to the crash in the 21200 block of County Highway C at 5:21 a.m., according to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators’ preliminary account says a Chevrolet HHR driven by a 19-year-old Genoa City man was traveling east when it crossed the centerline and sideswiped a westbound vehicle. The HHR then struck a westbound Chevrolet Impala head-on. The Impala driver, who was from Ingleside, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was being withheld while authorities notified her family. Both drivers involved in the head-on collision were trapped and had to be freed by rescue crews. The HHR driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle that was sideswiped was not injured and gave investigators a statement. The injured driver is cooperating with the investigation, and no arrests had been announced. The Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office responded, along with the multi-agency Major Crash Assistance Team, which is leading the crash investigation. County Highway C reopened at about 10 a.m. Tuesday.
