MILWAUKEE — Southeast Wisconsin is heading into a cool, windy start to the week after a gray and wet weekend, with only limited relief from the rain Monday. Clouds are expected to linger through much of the day, while isolated sprinkles and areas of drizzle develop during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures should remain in the low 60s, with a biting wind off Lake Michigan making it feel colder. The lake will be particularly rough and dangerous Monday because of the strong onshore wind. Swimmers and boaters should use caution and avoid hazardous conditions along the shoreline. A few light showers are expected overnight and may continue into Tuesday morning. Some breaks in the clouds could bring sunshine Tuesday afternoon, but windy and cool conditions are likely to persist, especially near Lake Michigan. The forecast improves during the second half of the week. Winds are expected to ease, skies should become sunnier from Wednesday through the weekend, and afternoon temperatures are projected to climb into the mid-to-upper 60s.
