MILWAUKEE — A 7-year-old child was seriously injured Friday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle near Washington Park, police said. The crash occurred around North 37th Street and West Lisbon Avenue as the driver was turning, according to police. The impact left the vehicle on top of a fallen fence at the scene. Milwaukee fire officials transported the child to Children’s Hospital at about 2:30 p.m. The child suffered serious injuries but was expected to survive. Police cited the driver. Officials did not release the driver’s name or provide additional details about the citation.
