Gustavo Ormo, a musician known as Gus, was identified Monday as the man found dead in a pool at a Weston home, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded at about 9 a.m. Friday to the home on Quail Roost Drive, near Hunter’s Point Boulevard. The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of Ormo’s death, sheriff’s office spokesperson Gerdy St. Louis said.

A caller who identified himself as Ormo’s brother told 911 dispatchers that the death appeared to be a suicide, according to a recording of the call. That account has not been confirmed by the medical examiner. The dispatcher warned the caller not to enter the pool.

Ormo was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, and was described as a skilled pianist, singer and songwriter. He had recently been promoting “Agape,” a six-track album. The 911 caller said Ormo was born in 1981 and was 45.
