Deputies: Man Shot Near NW 24th Avenue and 63rd Street in Gladeview, Hospitalized in Stable Condition

A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot late Friday night in Gladeview, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies were called to the area of Northwest 24th Avenue and 63rd Street at about 11:15 p.m. Friday after reports came in of a person who had been shot, according to the sheriff's office.

When they arrived, deputies found a man suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.

No arrests had been made as of Saturday morning, and the sheriff's office said its investigation remains active.

Authorities have not released the man's name or any information about a possible suspect or motive. It was not immediately clear whether the shooting happened on the street, inside a vehicle or at a nearby property.

The intersection sits in the heart of Gladeview, a densely populated unincorporated community just north of Liberty City and west of Little Haiti. The neighborhood is home to thousands of working families and has long been served by a patchwork of county agencies, churches and grassroots groups that have pushed for more resources and attention to public safety.

Residents with information about the shooting are urged to contact the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers, which accepts anonymous tips. Community advocates note that witness cooperation is often the deciding factor in whether shootings in neighborhoods like Gladeview are solved, and that fear of retaliation remains a persistent barrier.

This is a developing story. Anyone with details that could help investigators is encouraged to come forward.
