Deerfield Beach Woman Jailed on Attempted Murder Charge After Deputies Say She Stabbed Her Cousin
Taylor Sade Bostick, 25, is accused of stabbing her cousin in the abdomen during an argument outside a Deerfield Beach apartment complex early Saturday, leaving the victim with a potentially fatal liver injury. She remains jailed without bond.
A 25-year-old Deerfield Beach woman is being held without bond after Broward Sheriff's Office deputies say she stabbed her cousin in the abdomen during a late-night argument outside an apartment complex, leaving the victim with injuries that could have been fatal.
Taylor Sade Bostick was arrested early Saturday and booked into the Broward County Main Jail on a charge of attempted murder, according to an arrest report. As of Saturday afternoon she remained behind bars pending a bond court hearing.
Deputies were called to the 100 block of Southwest First Terrace shortly after midnight Saturday. They found the victim lying in the roadway with a stab wound to her abdomen, the report states.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue medics took the woman to Broward Health North. According to the arrest report, she lost roughly a liter of blood and suffered a potentially fatal injury to her liver that required cauterization and repair. She also had a laceration on top of her scalp that needed five staples and a cut to her left earlobe.
The account in the report begins around 11:30 p.m. Friday, when the victim's brother told deputies he was inside his apartment and heard a loud disturbance outside. He went out and saw Bostick and his sister arguing in the parking lot, authorities said.
As he headed downstairs to intervene, he noticed his sister bleeding from the left side of her face, according to investigators. The brother said his sister told him Bostick had caused that injury in an earlier confrontation.
The brother tried to separate the two women as Bostick continued to threaten the victim, the report states. Investigators said Bostick then reached around the brother and swung her right hand toward the victim's abdomen.
The victim immediately grabbed her stomach and began screaming that she had been stabbed, her brother told deputies. She bled heavily and tried to run before collapsing in the roadway, according to the report. Her brother called 911 and tried to help her.
Deputies said Bostick fled to her apartment after the stabbing. When deputies arrived at the complex, they ordered her out of the unit and took her into custody without further incident, authorities said.
Investigators said they recovered a black folding knife from a nearby dumpster.
Bostick was taken to the Broward Sheriff's Office Deerfield Beach district station for questioning. After being read her Miranda rights, she agreed to speak with detectives and admitted to intentionally stabbing her cousin, according to the report. The report also states that Bostick acknowledged lying about what she had done with the knife in an attempt to mislead investigators.
The arrest report does not say what sparked the argument between the two women.
