Edgerton takes control early, tops Jefferson 40-19 in Rock Valley matchup
Edgerton turned an early fourth-down touchdown into a 40-19 victory over Jefferson on Friday night. The win came in a Week 4 Rock Valley Conference meeting between teams that entered the game with 2-1 records.
EDGERTON, Wis. — Edgerton pulled away from Jefferson for a 40-19 win Friday night in a Rock Valley Conference football game between two teams looking to move up in the league standings.
The Crimson Tide opened the scoring in the first quarter after facing fourth-and-15. Quarterback Braedyn Doerr connected with Taydem Schaeffer for a touchdown, giving Edgerton a 7-0 lead.
Doerr later added a rushing touchdown as Edgerton continued to extend its advantage. Jefferson managed 19 points, but the Eagles could not keep pace with the Crimson Tide’s offense.
Both teams entered Week 4 with 2-1 records. Edgerton was seeking its first Rock Valley Conference title since 2013, while Jefferson’s most recent conference championship came in 2011.
Edgerton finished the night with a 40-19 victory over Jefferson.
