Marquette poll puts Crowley 3 points ahead of Tiffany in Wisconsin contest
David Crowley leads Tom Tiffany 49% to 46% among likely voters, down from a five-point edge in the previous Marquette Law School poll. The Nov. 3 election matchup remains close, with voters divided over both candidates’ positions.
MADISON, Wis. — David Crowley leads Tom Tiffany by three percentage points among Wisconsin voters who say they plan to vote, according to a Marquette Law School poll released Sept. 30. Crowley has 49% support and Tiffany 46%. In the previous month’s poll, Crowley led 49% to 44%. The election is Nov. 3.
Poll director Charles Franklin said Tiffany’s improvement appears tied to stronger Republican support and a smaller advantage for Crowley among independents. Democrats remained strongly behind Crowley, though their support dipped by one point, Franklin said.
The survey also asked respondents how they viewed the candidates’ positions. Thirty-nine percent said they mostly disagreed with Crowley’s platform, compared with 32% who said they agreed. For Tiffany, 41% said they disagreed with his positions and 40% said they agreed.
The results show a closely divided electorate heading into the November vote. The poll report provided no sample size or margin of error in the information available here, so the small change between surveys should be viewed cautiously.
