Watertown police are asking residents to help identify who stole a Flock camera in the city last week, saying they plan to pursue criminal charges in the case. The camera was stolen Thursday, Sept. 24, the department said Wednesday. Police did not disclose where the camera was located or provide details about the theft. The department said the cameras support public safety work, including identifying people suspected of crimes and helping locate missing people and abducted children. Police described the theft as an attack on that infrastructure. Acknowledging public discussion about Flock cameras, the department said that committing a crime is not a valid form of protest.
