REEDSBURG, Wis. — A Sauk County jury convicted a Chicago man of selling heroin within a school zone after a months-long investigation into drug activity at a Reedsburg home, prosecutors said. Hexadore C. Randall, 32, was found guilty of felony heroin delivery as a repeat offender, with an additional school-zone penalty. The jury also convicted him of maintaining a drug-trafficking place, possessing narcotic drugs and possessing drug paraphernalia. The Sixth Street home where the sale occurred was approximately 700 feet from Sacred Heart School, according to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office. The case began in fall 2023 after investigators received reports that Randall was distributing large quantities of heroin from the residence and traveling to Chicago to replenish his supply, prosecutors said. On Jan. 5, 2024, an informant working with the Sauk County Drug Task Force purchased about 2 grams of heroin from Randall inside the home. Investigators later searched the residence under a warrant and reported finding morphine, materials used to package drugs and $1,045 in cash. Randall faces a potential sentence of up to 23 years and six months in prison on the enhanced heroin-delivery conviction. The maximum penalties for all four convictions could total more than 30 years. The Sauk County Drug Task Force and Reedsburg Police Department investigated the case. A sentencing date was not provided.
