The Platteville Board of Education accepted Superintendent Jim Boebel’s retirement, which will take effect at the end of the 2026-27 school year, the district announced Thursday, Sept. 24. Boebel has spent more than 30 years in education, according to the district. In a statement, the district thanked him for his leadership and dedication to students, staff and the community. The board said the timing gives it ample opportunity to search for a new superintendent and support a smooth transition. The district has not announced a timeline or details for the successor search.
