Five vehicles reported stolen overnight near McKee Road; Madison police investigate

Madison police are investigating five vehicle theft reports, including several that involved overnight home burglaries, in neighborhoods near McKee Road in Fitchburg. Two vehicles were later found unoccupied, police said.

Madison police are investigating five reports of stolen vehicles in neighborhoods near McKee Road in Fitchburg after thefts reported Friday morning, Oct. 2. Several reports also involved people entering homes overnight, according to police. The first call came shortly before 6:30 a.m. from a woman who said her vehicle had been taken from outside her home on Hartford Drive. At about 7:30 a.m., another woman reported that someone had entered her home on the 3800 block of Woodstone Drive overnight and stolen her car. Around 8 a.m., a woman reported a similar break-in and vehicle theft at her home on Grove Circle. Police later found that car unoccupied in Fitchburg. About 45 minutes later, a woman reported an overnight entry and vehicle theft on the 6200 block of Camino Way; police said that vehicle was found on Waterford Circle. A fifth vehicle was reported stolen early Friday from Maple Run Court. Police have not said whether anyone has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
