MADISON, Wis. — Two reports alleging drugging and sexual assault connected to fraternity houses have prompted renewed concern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and calls for prevention efforts that extend beyond survivors. UW-Madison said it received both reports on Sunday, Sept. 27. The allegations were reported as separate incidents; details about the people involved were not provided. Dana Pellebon, executive director of Madison’s RCC Sexual Violence Resource Center, said preventing sexual violence is a shared responsibility. She pointed to prevention, education, bystander intervention and support for survivors as areas where the campus community needs to focus.
