Nick Houck’s perjury case heads to dismissal hearing in Nelson County
A judge is set to hear former Bardstown police officer Nick Houck’s request to dismiss a perjury charge tied to the 2015 disappearance of Crystal Rogers. His trial is scheduled for February.
A judge in Nelson County is scheduled to hear arguments Thursday, Oct. 22, on whether to dismiss the perjury case against former Bardstown police officer Nick Houck, whose charge is connected to the 2015 disappearance of Crystal Rogers.
The hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Houck’s defense filed a motion to dismiss last month, arguing prosecutors have not shown how his statements affected the outcome of the Rogers case.
A trial for Houck is scheduled for February. The charge is an allegation, and the motion asks the court to end the case before trial.
Rogers disappeared in 2015. Houck’s brother, Brooks Houck, was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison.
