Louisville says Home for Good has housed 100 people, sets 250-person goal

Louisville’s Home for Good initiative has placed 100 people experiencing unsheltered homelessness in permanent housing, Mayor Craig Greenberg said Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The program pairs housing with support such as health care, social work and job training, which the city says can help residents address underlying needs and build stability. Its goal is to provide permanent supportive housing to at least 250 people experiencing chronic homelessness by 2027.

The announcement comes as Louisville reports an 18% drop in unsheltered homelessness in its 2026 Point-in-Time count. The city did not provide further details about the count in its announcement.

Louisville is also awarding more than $1.1 million in Homeless Initiative funding to nine agencies. The funding is expected to help provide more than 400 additional shelter beds during severe weather, along with case management and other services to help people move into permanent housing.
