Louisville rescue group seeks donations for dog treated after motor-oil exposure
The Arrow Fund says Cashew arrived for veterinary care with motor oil on her coat, open wounds and several serious health problems. The group is asking the public to help cover her care as she recovers.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Arrow Fund is seeking donations to help treat Cashew, a dog brought to the organization with motor oil on her coat and multiple medical problems.
The group said Cashew has a skin infection, open wounds, infections in both ears, fleas, anemia and dehydration. Her skin was so fragile that it broke when a transporter came to pick her up, according to the fund.
The circumstances that led to Cashew’s condition, including where she came from, have not been made public. The Arrow Fund has not said whether the case is being investigated as abuse or neglect. The group said it is working to help her recover.
The appeal came after a Friday arrest in a separate case involving the alleged abuse and mistreatment of a puppy named Singer. The fund said other animals also need care.
Donations can be made through the Arrow Fund’s website or PayPal account, @thearrowfund. Checks can be mailed to the organization at P.O. Box 1127, Prospect, KY 40059.
