HalLOUween festival moves to Oct. 24 as storms threaten Louisville
Louisville’s free HalLOUween festival and parade have been postponed because of possible rain from the remnants of Hurricane Isaias. The NuLu/East Market event is now set for Oct. 24, though organizers have not confirmed whether its hours will change.
Louisville’s HalLOUween festival and parade will take place two weeks later than planned after organizers postponed the event because of a forecast of wet weather, including possible showers and storms from the remnants of Hurricane Isaias.
The free event, planned for the NuLu/East Market District, is now scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, the weekend before Halloween. Organizers said they made the change with the safety of attendees, participants, vendors and volunteers in mind, and thanked the community for its understanding.
The festival had been scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the night parade at 7 p.m. It was not yet clear whether those hours will remain the same after the postponement.
This year’s program also includes a new ticketed Cider Festival. Organizers had not announced further schedule details as of Oct. 9.
