A 43-year-old University of Colorado emergency medicine instructor and a 3-year-old girl died when their plane crashed near Eldorado Springs, the Boulder County Coroner’s Office said Friday.
The victims were identified as Aaron Gingrich and Isabella Gingrich. The University of Colorado Anschutz confirmed that Gingrich was an instructor in its Department of Emergency Medicine.
The fixed-wing aircraft was reported missing Sunday night. Search crews found the wreckage the next morning in rugged terrain about four miles west of Mountain View Fire Rescue Station 9. Rescuers took about two hours to reach the site on foot. Both people aboard died.
