Dallas County staffs 84 early-voting sites ahead of Nov. 3 election

Dallas County is training about 4,000 election workers ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, with early voting set to begin Monday, Oct. 19.

Roughly 60 full-time employees in the county’s Election Department are leading the preparation, including training clerks and election judges. Trainer Tomiko Washington, who previously served as both a clerk and a judge, said she was glad to help prepare the people staffing voting centers.

The county says equipment is already in place at all 84 early-voting locations. Those sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during both weeks of early voting, which ends Friday, Oct. 30.

Dallas County Election Department employee Nicholas Solorzano said voters can use any vote center rather than returning to a precinct-specific location. The county expects to have 444 polling locations open on Election Day.

The training effort is a key part of running a large election, as poll workers help voters navigate the process and keep voting locations operating. Dallas County residents can cast ballots early at any of the county’s designated early-voting centers, according to election officials.
