Two 17-year-olds charged in Daniel Rosales’ fatal Plano shooting
Plano police say Chauncey Harris and Na'Treveon Ward were arrested Thursday and charged with capital murder in the Oct. 13 killing of 17-year-old Daniel Ariel Rosales. Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive.
Two 17-year-olds have been charged with capital murder in the fatal shooting of Daniel Ariel Rosales in a Plano alley, police said Thursday, Oct. 15.
Chauncey Harris and Na'Treveon Ward were arrested in connection with the Oct. 13 shooting in the 900 block of Middle Cove Drive, according to the Plano Police Department. Rosales, also 17, was found dead in the alley from a gunshot wound.
Police have not publicly identified a possible motive. Earlier information from investigators said the suspect was known to Rosales. The charges are allegations, and the arrests do not establish guilt.
The killing shook residents of the neighborhood. Ashley Chiechi said she was walking her dog when she heard a woman screaming and saw first responders performing chest compressions on Rosales. She described the area as quiet and said she was surprised by the violence.
Rosales regularly cut hair in a garage near the home where he was shot, according to information shared about the investigation.
