A 61-year-old Lavon man died after his motorcycle collided with a car early Sunday, Oct. 11, at State Highway 205 and County Road 485 in Collin County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS said a preliminary investigation found that Darryl Cloyd was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson north on SH 205 at about 1:20 a.m. A BMW 750 entering the highway from a stop sign on CR 485 failed to yield, and Cloyd’s motorcycle struck the car’s rear driver’s side, troopers said.
Cloyd was taken to a medical facility, where he was pronounced dead. The BMW’s driver, 24-year-old Darren Dahleiden of Plano, was taken to a hospital with suspected minor injuries, DPS said.
