Investigators work to identify remains found near Alvarado

Authorities are investigating after Johnson County deputies found suspected human remains along County Road 208 near Alvarado on Friday, Oct. 23.
The remains were discovered in the 3200 block of the road. Investigators believe they belong to a woman, but her identity has not been determined, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff’s office is working on the case with the Texas Rangers and the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials have not released information about the cause of death or the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
The investigation remains active. The sheriff’s office asked the public not to speculate while investigators work to establish the facts.
