Dallas woman booked on manslaughter charges after fatal Garland Road collision

Aldrea Rogers, 22, was booked into the Dallas County Jail on Oct. 16 on two counts of manslaughter in connection with a multi-vehicle crash that killed two people on Garland Road, according to jail records and Dallas police information.

Rogers’ bond was set at $250,000 for each second-degree felony charge, for a combined $500,000. The charges are allegations; the investigation remains ongoing.

The crash happened around 7:52 p.m. Oct. 6 in the 9200 block of Garland Road near Knob Oak Drive. Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue responded.

Julian Harris, 23, died at the scene. Madison Duren, 22, was taken to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and later died from her injuries. Three other people were transported to a hospital.

Harris and Duren, both Southern Methodist University graduates, were active in North Texas theater, working with companies including Kitchen Dog Theater, Teatro Dallas and Hip Pocket Theatre. SMU scheduled a memorial service for the pair on Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.

Early reports indicated that a third vehicle had left before police arrived. Investigators later clarified, with family members confirming, that no third vehicle fled the scene.
