PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Jaggers, a fast-food brand operated by Texas Roadhouse, is seeking to open a location at 873 Refugee Road in Pickerington, between Popeyes and Giant Eagle. The proposed restaurant would occupy an currently vacant area of the shopping center and measure about 3,000 square feet. Plans call for a two-lane drive-thru that would merge into a single lane, along with new signage that the company has asked the city to approve. The project remains in the planning process. A Jaggers representative declined to provide additional details about the company’s plans, but city records show the business has been discussing a potential franchise with Pickerington officials. Jillian Konarski, representing Jaggers’ parent company, told Pickerington City Council in June that the building’s design was shaped by the existing shopping center and its traffic patterns. The proposed structure would be rotated to avoid disrupting vehicle flow through the larger commercial area, she said. Councilman Brian Wisniewski identified the proposed site as the currently empty section near the center’s existing parking spaces. Jaggers’ menu includes burgers, chicken sandwiches and tenders, salads, fries, tater tots, macaroni and cheese, edamame, milkshakes and seasonal offerings. The chain is currently featuring Korean hot chicken. The concept was launched in Indiana in 2014 by Texas Roadhouse founder Kent Taylor. Taylor later described the brand as an attempt to combine elements of Chick-fil-A and Five Guys. Jaggers has since expanded into Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The Pickerington project would likely be the chain’s second Ohio location. Another Jaggers restaurant is planned near Polaris Fashion Place, north of Columbus. Company representatives told council members they hope to open the Pickerington restaurant in early 2027. That timeline will depend on the city’s review of the site, signage and other development approvals.
